Manitoba issues over 2,100 provincial nomination invitations to international graduates, skilled workers, and Francophone candidates

The latest selection included a range of nominees, including post-secondary graduates in Manitoba, skilled workers in Manitoba and overseas, French-speaking nominees and healthcare workers, and nominees eligible through the International Education Stream, to illustrate the program’s diverse opportunities.

This is Manitoba's 14th MPNP selection draw in 2026, and the largest draw in the province since September 2025. The July 16 draw marks a major milestone in Manitoba's immigration efforts, with 2,146 LAAs issued, making it a key event for potential applicants and stakeholders. Invitations were issued through several MPNP streams and targeted selection categories:

1. The majority of invitations, 92.4%, went to candidates nominated through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway, showing the program's focus on dedicated applicants.

2. In addition, 825 invited candidates had provided both their Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code, underscoring the importance of submitting complete and accurate profiles to maximize success.

A total of 1,982 invitations were extended to candidates in the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway. Selection of these candidates was done through three broad categories.

This category had the most invites. 1,874 LAAs were issued to candidates from this category.

Invited candidates were supposed to mention in their Expression of Interest profiles that they had either completed their studies or that their spouses had completed studies at a Manitoba post-secondary institute, and that their score in EOI was no less than 825.

Applicants invited under this category should prepare supporting documents such as diplomas and transcripts to verify their Manitoba studies, with clear instructions on submission deadlines and procedures to help them stay on track and confident in the process. This category accounted for approximately 94.6% of invitations issued through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway.

Another 84 invitation letters were sent out via Francophone selection.

The applicants evaluated through this stream have indicated French as their means of communication with the MPNP and have provided valid French-language test results in their EOI profiles.

Additionally, 24 invitation letters were issued through occupation-specific selection targeting selected healthcare occupations.

To use this stream of applications, one should be licensed to practice in the selected healthcare occupation in Manitoba. If a candidate cannot provide evidence that they work in this regulated occupation or have met licensing requirements, the application for provincial nomination will be rejected.

Another 86 LAAs were sent out to applicants involved in certain strategic recruitment initiatives through the Skilled Worker Stream.

This category included people who were either directly invited through MPNP recruitment programs or eligible under the temporary public policy for work permits created for potential provincial nominees.

Graduate Internship Pathway of the International Education Stream of Manitoba comprised another 78 invitations.

Candidates invited under this pathway must demonstrate that they meet the program's criteria when applying for their nominations from the province. The criteria include:

Having completed a Master's/Doctoral degree in the province within the last three years;

Having completed a Mitacs Accelerate/Elevate internship in an eligible organization in the province (including Accelerate Entrepreneur); and

Having CLB/NCLC level 7 or above proficiency in English.

Satisfying the general selection criteria is not always enough for gaining entry. According to Manitoba, certain qualified applicants may have been excluded due to issues with the information they submitted in the EOI form.

Some people who applied may not have been picked because of issues such as not having the required language test results or not providing an invitation number when they applied for a job. If we talk about these problems, people who apply will know what to do. They will be more likely to get the job they want.

The draw on July 16 shows that the province of Manitoba wants people with connections to the province to know how to speak French and have experience in jobs the province needs.
